The word "chiropractic" comes from the ancient Greek and means ''done by hand". Doctors of Chiropractic (or chiropractors) are primary care health professionals qualified to provide practical and effective conservative treatment to help manage neuromusculoskeletal disorders, such as back pain, neck pain, headaches and more. As a chiropractor, I am an expert on the spine, muscles and nervous system. My training allows me to evaluate, diagnose and treat disorders affecting these systems. I use a combination of manipulation and mobilization techniques to help restore joint movement, soft tissue therapy and massage tools to help reduce muscle tension/attachment, rehabilitation exercises and lifestyle advice to help you achieve your goals. This can help reduce the frequency of symptoms, improve quality of life and promote overall health. Chiropractors are trained after a minimum of seven years of post-secondary education. Canadian chiropractors must have earned a Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited institution, which means they have completed a minimum of 4,200 hours of specialized training and a full year of clinical practice. They must also pass all national and other provincial examinations in order to be licensed.
  • Les soins chiropratiques sont-ils sécuritaires?
Yes, chiropractic care is recognized as a safe, effective and non-invasive therapy used to help manage neuromusculoskeletal disorders such as back and neck pain. Evidence supports both effectiveness and safety. However, no health care treatment is completely free of adverse effects or risks. Patients usually experience immediate relief after treatment, but some may experience minimal temporary pain, stiffness or mild soreness. These effects are usually minor and short-lived. Prior to treatment, I will review the risks and benefits of care with you, discuss alternative care, and obtain your informed consent, which ensures that you receive sufficient information about the recommended care. I always encourage my patients to ask questions.
  • Quand dois-je consulter un chiropraticien et que traite-t-il ?
Chiropractors are trained to assess, diagnose, treat and prevent disorders of the spine, joints, muscles and nervous system. These disorders may include back pain, neck pain, headaches, referred arm pain, sciatic nerve disorder, etc. Many New Brunswickers also turn to chiropractic for wellness care to improve their mobility and overall health. Athletes can rely on care to prevent injury and improve performance. Even if you are not experiencing pain, chiropractic care can help you maintain a healthy neuromusculoskeletal system. Over 4 million Canadians visit a chiropractor every year. Here are some of the common reasons for seeking care: Back pain Neck pain Headaches Whiplash Sciatica Strains and sprains from daily activities Repetitive strain injuries Work and sports-related injuries Arthritis Upper and lower extremity injuries General health and well-being
  • Quels sont les avantages des soins chiropratiques?
Chiropractic care can: Help relieve pain and stiffness Improve function of the joints, muscles and nervous system Help restore aberrant function of the joint and associated tissues Improve movement and mobility Improve your posture Help prevent work-related muscle and joint injuries Enhance athletic performance Improve your flexibility and range of motion Relieve pregnancy-related back ache Correct gait and foot problems
  • Qu'est-ce qu'un « ajustement » ?
An adjustment is a precise movement, usually applied by hands to a joint in your body. I use chiropractic techniques to perform adjustment as well as instruments depending on your needs. Adjustments help restore movement to your joints and optimize their function. Chiropractic adjustment techniques, also known as manipulations, have been extensively researched and are safe and effective. Together we will determine how you can benefit from chiropractic care and if you should be referred to another health care professional. I always encourage you to have a good health care team on your side!
  • Ai-je besoin d'une recommandation pour consulter un chiropraticien?
No referral is necessary. Chiropractors are recognized as primary contact professionals in all provinces of Canada. This means that you, as a patient, can consult us without a referral from your family doctor. If you have insurance that covers custom orthotics and you need a new pair, you will need a prescription from your doctor or nurse practitioner with a specific diagnosis (back pain, metatarsalgia, plantar fasciitis, hip pain, pes planus, or other) in order to receive reimbursement. I will take care of the rest!
